Abstract

666,971. Portable cleaners. BREUER ELECTRIC MFG. CO. April 30, 1948 [May 1, 1947], No. 11930/48. Class 8 (i) A combined blower and suction device comprises a casing 6, 7 enclosing a motor-driven fan and having an axial air inlet and tangential air outlet 34, the device being supported by an arm 48 clamped to the casing and extending laterally with respect to the outlet and upwardly from the casing, the arm being arranged to suspend the device with the tangential outlet parallel to and adjacent the floor to be cleaned. During normal use, a handle 59 on the arm 48 is vertically above the centre of gravity of the device. The outer end of the air outlet may be of flexible material so as to be movable in response to air flow therethrough. A bar 42 on the air outlet dislodges litter stuck to the floor &c. A dust bag is secured over the outlet when the device is to be used as a vacuum cleaner.
