665,579. Rectilinear-motion bearings. DEXTER & CO. (HIGH WYCOMBE), Ltd., and McVEY, G. Nov. 4, 1949 [June 14, 1949], No. 28336/49. Addition to 655,961. Class 12 (i). In a modification of the rectilinear - motion bearings described in the parent Specification and Specification 662,366, spring means 42 for applying a lateral pressure to a carrier 7a of the pair of rods 3 are provided. The spring 40 is housed in a recess 42 in a nut 41 which may be adjustably screwed into the fixed flange 20 in order to vary the spring pressure. A flange 43 on the nut 41 limits the extent to which the nut can be screwed up. The carrier 7a is finally locked in position by bolts 18 passing through enlarged holes in the plate 17.
