Abstract

662,366. Bearings. DEXTER & CO. (HIGH WYCOMBE), Ltd., and McVEY, G. April 29, 1949, No. 11498/49. Addition to 655,961. Class 12 (i). In the bearing described in the parent Specification, the carriers are provided with clamping means which engage the tracking rods at spaced intervals therealong. The carriers 5a, 5b, 7a, Fig. 1, have rectangular grooves in which the tracking rods 2, 3 are disposed in pairs and retained therein by wedge-headed bolts 30 located between the rods and extending through lateral holes 31 in the carriers, being held by nuts 32. The righthand fixing bolt 18 passes through an enlarged hole 19a which permits lateral movement of the carrier at this side for adjustment purposes. In a modification the pairs of rods 2, 3, Fig. 2, are in contact within substantially rectangular grooves 35, and are retained therein by spaced countersunk or wedge-headed screws 36 above and below the rods.
