Classes 20(iii) and 20(iv) A window or panel frame, Figs. 1 and 2, comprises, in cross-section, a flat ledge part 1, a bead retaining flange 3, a pane or panel retaining flange 9 with a step 2 at the lower part thereof as a pane or panel support, and a bead frame 8 comprising components each of which rest on the flat ledge part 1 and against the bead retaining flange 3 without being mechanically or otherwise connected or' attached thereto, there being corner pieces for the bead frame 8 to maintain it in contact with the flat ledge part 1 of the frame. The bead frame 8 may be between the step 2 and the flange 3, Fig. 1, or it may embrace the flange 3 as shown in Fig. 2. The said corner pieces, which also join together the components of the bead frame 8, may comprise right-angled members 12, Fig. 5, secured in position by bolts 13 passing through slots in the ends of the said components. A member 16, Fig. 7, may be clipped into position as shown in Fig. 5 to hide the heads of the bolts 13. Alternatively, a corner member such as is illustrated in Fig. 10, may be bolted to adjacent ends of the component of the bead frame, the bolt heads in this case remaining visible. According to a modification, the components of the bead frame 8 may be held in position by corner members 21 such as are illustrated in Fig. 13, these members having tongues 20 for clipping on to the end of one bead frame component 22, Fig. 12, and an extension 19 for embracing the end of an adjoining bead frame component 23.
