Abstract
664,215. Cycle supports. LLOYD'S CYCLES, Ltd., W. A. Sept. 28, 1950 [Aug. 20, 1949; May 20, 1950], Nos. 21685/49 and 12679/50. Class 136(i) A cycle stand comprises one or a pair of stays 4 pivoted at 12 to an attachment member which is secured to the chain stays 2 of a cycle adjacent the bottom bracket 3, and movable angularly into a position for use or into an out-of-use position, the attachment member having one or a pair of depending sides which are returned to form two depending loop-like parts 8 between the sides of which the stays are pivoted. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the attachment member 1 is secured to the chain stays 2 by clamping plates 18, 19 and a bolt 20. The legs 4 are coupled together by arms 13, 14 slidable through one another so that the legs move in unison. Anchored between the arm 13 and a plate 16 which braces the member 1 is a coiled tension spring 15 which retains the legs 4 in both the operative and inoperative positions against a stop formed by a bridge piece 11 at the lower end of each loop-like part 8. Fig. 7 shows a modification in which a single leg 4 is pivoted to an attachment member consisting of a top portion 21 and a depending part 22, the end portion 22a of which is folded over to provide a loop-like part 8.
