Abstract

662,444. Speed governors. BOSCH GES., R. Jan. 8, 1949 [Oct. 1, 1948], No. 603/49. Class 57 [Also in Group XXVII] A stop lever 15 for a fuel injection pump governor 9 is held in its normal position A, determining the maximum fuel supply, by a second stop 16 which is spring- loaded to allow the lever 15 to be manually rotated to a position B to allow excess fuel to be supplied for starting, the lever 15 also being rotatable to a fuel cut-off position C. The governor comprises a spring-loaded diaphragm 9 controlled by induction pipe suction in the chamber 11 and connected by a sleeve 8 to a pin 7 on the pump control rod 6. The pin 7 also passes through an elongated slot 28, in a member 27, loaded by a spring 25, which is slidable in the sleeve 8 and contacts the stop-lever 15 before the governor 9 reaches the maximum fuel position to act through the spring 25 to oppose the load of the governor spring 20, whereby the governor reacts more readily to an increase of speed in the maximum fuel position. The stop 16 is mounted in an adjustable bush 19 screwed into a slotted projection 22 which may be tighteried by a screw 23 to lock the bush 19 in position.
