Abstract
1,246,641. Starting fuel injection engines. C. A. V. Ltd. Dec.19, 1968 [Jan.5, 1968], No.762/68. Heading F1B. A member 12 normally limiting the maximum delivery position of the fuel control rod 10 of a fuel pumping apparatus is moved from its limiting position by a member 13 which in moving downwardly telescopes over the member 12 and in moving upwardly raises the member 12 due to the friction between the members. The friction is produced by virtue of the force exerted by the spring 11 through the control rod 10 on the lower end of the member 12. The member 12 is moved to its limiting position by the light spring 15 when the control rod 10 is moved to the left by the governor mechanism of the pumping apparatus. In a second embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the body (16) housing the limiting member (12) is adjustably mounted on a housing containing the control rod (10) in order that the normal maximum delivery position of the rod may be adjusted. An adjustable stop (17) is provided in the control rod housing to determine the excess fuel starting position of the control rod.
