661,070. Seats ; furniture frames and resilient mountings. FISHER & LUDLOW, Ltd. April 7, 1948. [April 12, 1947] No. 14342/49. Divided out of 9795/47. Classes 52 (i) and 52 (ii). A seat comprising a base and a connected seat and back portions is mounted on a horizontal torsion spring member so that the occupant is supported as to the seat and back, in any position to which he may lean or slide. As shown the seat comprises a tubular frame having side members 11 connected at their ends by members 12, 13 the latter of which serves as a foot rest member and also by intermediate members 15 upon which is secured the seat proper 16. A torsion spring comprising a bar 22 of channel section is secured, as by welding, to the side members 11 and at its central intermediate part to an upright member 23 which is mounted for swivelling and for vertical adjustable movement in a base support 24, A back rest comprises an endless band 17 of flexible material connected by clamps 18 to the side members 11.
