Abstract
660,976. Change - speed gearing. JUY, L. C. HNov. 3, 1949 [Dec. 14, 1948], No. 28226/49. Class 80 (ii) In a change - speed gear for cycles wherein the chain is shifted from one to the other of a pair of crank sprockets 3, 4, a control lever 9 which carries the shifting fork 13 at its lower end is secured, between its ends, to a member 8 pivoted on a pin 5 secured to the saddle tube 1 by a clip 6 or by welding. The rocking movement of the member 8 is limited by projections 16, 17 on a member 15 carried by the pin 5, the member 15 being pressed against the member 8, so as to give frictional restraint to the latter, by a spring washer 10 adjusted by a nut 11. The fork 13 is adjustable on the bent-out end of the lever 9 and secured by a screw 14.
