Abstract

660,759. Jacketed hollowware. BELL, H. J. Nov. 1, 1949 [Nov. 2, 1948], No. 28006/49. Class 66 [Also in Group XI] A luncheon carrier comprises three concentric casings 1, 2 and 3 with insulation, e.g. asbestos or cork 4, disposed between the outer casings 1 and 2, and with a liquid, e.g. water 5, disposed between the inner casings 2 and 3. The water is electrically heated, e.g. by an immersion heater 8 fixed in a detachable ring in a part 10 of the carrier bridging the insulation 4. A suitably insulated hinged lid 15 with a handle 19 is provided and a ring 20 with a safety valve closes a passage 6 leading to the water space. The food to be heated may be contained in a stack or nest of pots &c. e.g. all in a carrying cage &c.
