Abstract
660,122. Pressure gauges. KATHER ENTERPRISES, Ltd., A. C. Feb. 14, 1949 [Feb. 24, 1948; March 24, 1948], Nos. 5429/48 and 8642/48. Class 106 (ii). [Also in Group XXXIV] A fluid pressure indicator e.g. for a pneumatic tyre comprises a body 1 adapted to be seated on a valve which can be opened by a plunger 17 whereupon the fluid pressure acts on a resilient member 8 which is visible at least when extended by a predetermined pressure. As shown the plunger passes through a leakage-controlling valve diaphragm 19, and the indicating dia. phragm 8 is visible through a transparent cap 7. A tyre inflator may be attached to the part 28. Various modifications are described, e.g. the indicating diaphragm and cap may be ring- shaped and the space through which the diaphragm can expand can be adjusted, thus altering the pressure at which such expansion occurs. Two diaphragms may be provided which expand under different pressures, and various colour indications may be used on the diaphragms and caps.
