Abstract

659,764. Dispensing liquids. SPACARB, Inc. Dec. 16, 1948, No. 32567. Convention date, Dec. 31, 1947. [Class 116] [Also in Group II] A beverage mixing device including means for discharging a stream of liquid and adjacent means for discharging a separate stream of liquid, said means being so arranged that said streams will converge beyond the confines of either of said means, said device comprising a downwardly directed carbonated water conduit, an inlead conduit communicating through a side wall of said water conduit, the axes of the bores of said conduits being offset with respect to each other and one or more syrup conduits arranged to have outlets distributed about the outlet of said water conduit having said outlets inclined to direct syrup toward the stream from the water conduit outlet. Carbonated water flows from a conduit 13 to a larger diameter conduit 15 and is then directed tangentially, through a port 19, into an outlet head 16 having an internal diameter greater than that of the conduit 15 and which carries a nozzle 21 in which is provided a screen 24 to counteract the swirling motion of the stream 26 as it issues from the nozzle. Syrups are delivered from three delivery tubes 10, 11, 12, the end portions of which are directed inwardly towards the axis of the nozzle 21.
