Abstract
659,670. Stud - and - socket fastenings. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. July 26, 1949, No. 19654. Convention date, Aug. 5, 1948. [Class 441 A stud 7, Fig. 3, for a stud and socket fastening (shown assembled in Fig. 5) is formed with a base flange 10 secured by bent over attachment prongs 12 on a ring 8 positioned on the other side of the supporting material 9. The base flange 10 is smaller in diameter than the aperture 11 in the ring 8 so that the parts nest together with the material 9 between them. The bent over parts of the prongs 12 are accommodated in an annular recess 6 in the socket members 1. Strengthening strips 13, 14 may be sewn to the materials 3 and 9 to be joined, especially if they are knitted.
