Abstract

659,487. Pulley head for blinds. LISLE, U. L. ORCHARD-. Nov. 16, 1949. No. 29372. [Class 20(iii)] A pulley head for venetian &c. blinds includes an angle bar having limbs 1, 2 at right angles and of a length greater than the width of the blind, to conceal the pulley head mechanism when placed about the latter with one limb 1 vertical in front of the mechanism and the other, 2, horizontal beneath it, two brackets supporting the ends of the bar, each having a top arm 5 extending over the head mechanism to support the front limb of the bar and a rear arm 6 carrying a lug 7 projecting towards the front limb and slotted, 8, to receive the rear end 4 of the horizontal limb 2 of the bar, and an end plate 11 at each end of the bar tg conceal the ends of the pulley head mechanism. The upper edge of the limb 1 projects inwardly at 3 and rests in a downwardly offset portion 5a of each bracket, the two being secured by screws 10 passing through holes 9 in the limb 1 into tapped holes in the lugs 5b of the brackets, alternatively a collapsable toggle, a tapscrew, an oval hole and turning key or other securing means may be used. The limb 2 has an upturned part 4 at the rear of slightly less depth than the slot 8. The end plates 11 may be integral with the brackets. Holes for attaching the brackets to supports are provided in arms 5 and 6. Intermediate brackets with top arm 5, rear arm 6a and supporting lug 6b may be provided. The blind lifting cords pass through holes in the bottom of the pulley head.
