COMBINATION BRACKET.
T 0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALFRED h IA'rHIs, a citizen of the United States, residing at North Bergen, in the county of Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented new and useful Improvements in Combination Brackets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention brackets.
More particularly the invention relates to combination brackets such as are used for supporting curtain pole, drapery rod and rolled shade,
Some of the objects of the present invention are :To produce comparatively simple brackets of the character mentioned, to reduce the number of parts; to employ a plurality of brackets of the present type on thefranie of a window, which are capable of being adjusted to accommodate a curtain, drapery and window shade regardless of the Widths respectively of the curtain, dra cry and window shade within certain and with these and other objects in View the invention resides in the particular construction and relative disposition of parts hereinafter fully described, and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is an elevation of the upper portion of a window structure with a pair of brackets of the present invention applied thereto ready for use to properly support a curtain, drapery and ordinary rolled window shade.
Figure 2 is a perspective view the brackets attached.
Figure 3 is a sectional view taken on the line 33 of Figure 1.
Figure at is a sectional view on the line ldof Figure 1.
Referring more particularly to the several views of the drawing, and. especially with reference to Figure 1, it will be apparent that use is made of a pair of brackets 10. The brackets are substantially identical in construction except in one respect and that will be pointed out hereinafteix Inasmuch as the brackets are subtantially identical a description of one will sufiice the other.
ihe bracket 10 comprises an attaching plate 11, bracket member 12 and means relates to combination of one of 13 for temporarily holding. the bracket member 12 in different positions of adjust ment on the attaching plate 11. The attaching plate 11 may be of any outline and is provided with holes on the opposite ends thereof, for the reception of fastening elements such as screw 14 for effecting the attachment of the plate to the frame of the window structure 15. The bracket member 12 is formed preferably of a single piece of material to provide a part 16, part 17, and an intermediate part 18. The part 16 is bent forwardly and downwardly as at 19, then upwardly as at and then bent into a semi-circular portion 21. Part 17 is disposed the part 18 and the part 17 has a hole 22 therein. At this point, it is well to mention that the part 17 of the other bracket 10 has a notch instead of a hole 22. The means 13 comprises a member 23 and a set screw 24. The member 23 has a recess 25, a screw threaded hole 26, and holes in the opposite ends for the reception of screws which are employed for removably attaching the member 23 to the plate 11. The said screw 2a is adapted to be screwed into the hole 26. In the assemblage of the several elements the part 18 of the bracket member 1.2 is disposed in the recess 25 and the bracket member with respect to the attaching plate 11. The end of the set screw 24 may be screwed against the part 18 of the bracket member 12 to hold the latter temporarily in its adjusted position and this way the parts, 17 of the brackets 10 may be set apart in the desired distance to accommodate the particular rolled window shade. A curtain pole may be positioned in the semi-circular portion 21 for the hanging of a curtain and a rod may be positioned behind the portions 20 to be supported by the junctures between the portions 19 and 20 for the hanging of a drapery. The parts 17 of course serve for the support of the ordinary shade roller; one part accommodating the squared end of the spring part accommodates the pintle of the opposite end of the shade roller.
hat is claimed as new is A bracket comprising an attaching memher, a bracket member formed of a single at a right angle with respect to is movable therein for the adjustment of factuated shaft whereas the other piece of n'latelial and bent to provide spaced supporting parts connected by an intermediate part, one of said supporting parts being bent upwardly, downwardly and for- Wardly thence upwardly to form the notch for the reception of a drapery rod, and thence forwardly to form a semicircular portion for the reception of a curtain pole, the other supporting part being bent outwardly and provided with a slot for the reception of a shade roller, and means carried by the attaching plate for adjustably supporting the bracket member between the supporting parts, said means including a plate removably mounted on said attaching member and having a passage therein for slidably receiving said intermediate part, and a set screw carried by said plate for clamping engagement with said intermediate part.
In testimony whereof I have aflixed my signature.
ALFRED MATHIS.
