COMBINATION CURTAIN, DRAPERY, AND SHADE SUPPORT.

This invention relates to the class of devices for supporting shade rollers, draperies, curtains, etc.

An object of the present invention is to provide a support consisting of a plurality of appurtenances capable of being employed in conjunction with a window structure in cluding a frame, for supporting a shade roller, a curtain and draperies with an artistic effect and so that the curtain and draperies may be shifted conveniently along the rods provided therefor and from which the curtain and draperies may be suspended in a novel manner.

Another object of the invention is to pro vide a support of the character mentioned which may be easily attached, which will be easy to adjust with relation to the fixtures, and so as to accommodate shades, curtains, and draperies of different widths without requiring the support in its entirety being. removed.

The nature of the invention and its distinguishing features and advantages will appear when the following specification is read in conjunction with the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is a view looking down on the support of the present invention which is shown, attached and ready to accommodate a shade roller, .a curtain, and a couple of draperies.

Fig.2 is a perspective view of one of the two devices constituting the support of the present invention and showing portions of the curtain and drapery rods and the manner in which they are connected.

In accordance with the present invention use will be made oi two devices which are similar in construction, and which will be attached to the frame of a window, in dicated at 11, respectively at opposite sides thereof at the top. Each device 10 comprises a fixture 12, a shade roller bracket 13, and a curtain and drapery bracket 14. The fixture 12 is of integral construction and con sists of a member 15 having flanges 16, and

attaching lug 17 having a hole therein for accommodation of a fastening element, such as a screw 18, and a member 19 which is disposed substantially at a right angle with respect to the member 15 and both of said members being horizontally disposed when the fixture is attached. It is to be noted that but two screws, the screws 18, are all that is necessary for supporting all of the parts for use. The bracket 13 is substantially L- shaped to provide a member 20 and a mem ber 21 there being an elongated slot 22 in each of the members 20 and 21. The lower end of the member 21 is adapted to accommodate a trunnion at one end of a shade roller for rotation, and it is to be understood that the trunnion at the opposite end of the shade roller will be held in the lower end of the other companion member 21 against rotation as is usual in supporting a shade roller. The bracket 13" is carried by the member 19 for adjustment with respect thereto, and this is accomplished by virtue of the em ployment of a clamping element 23 having a screw 24 which extends in the slot 22 of the member 20' and is threaded in a threaded hole in the member 19. The bracket 14 is substantially L-shaped to provide a member 25 having an elongated slot 26 therein, and a member 27. The bracket 14 is carried by the member 15 and is adjustable with respect thereto, and this is accomplished by virtue of the use of a clamping element 28 having a screw 29 which extends in the slot 26 and is threaded in a threaded hole in the member 15. It is to be noted that the bracket 14 is maintained in adjusted positions by the single element 28 and that the flanges 16 prevent any pivotal movement of the bracket 14 which guide the member 25 for sliding movement. The member 27 has connected thereto in any preferred manner hooks 30 which extend late-rally from one side of the member 27, and a hook 31 is also attached in any suitable manner to the member 27. The hook 31 has a staggered relationship with respect to the hooks 30 because of the fact that a comparatively long piece of material is used and which is bent in a particular manner to obtain the staggered relation mentioned. Use is made of a plurality of rods 32 each of which is madeup of sections as shown in Figure 4, the section 33 being adjustable with respect to the section 34 by virtue of the screw connection 35. Each end of each rod is provided with a screw eye 36, the eyes of which are adapted to be respectively engaged over the hooks 30 and 31. Holes 37 in the sections of each rod serve for respectively accommodating a hook to compensate for the difference of adjustment of the brackets 14. One or more rods 32 may be employed. in conjunction with the hooks 30 for suspending one or more curtains, whereas, the rod 32 used in conjunction with the hooks 31 serves for suspending draperies one on each side of the window frame. Each of the rods 32 is provided with tubular members 38 which are slidable on the rods to which portions of the curtain or drapery, as the case may be, are secured by the use of any suitable clamping elements, thus slidably supporting the curtain and draperies on the rods.

It is to be understood that the invention is not restricted to the precise arrangement of parts shown and described, as details of construction may be modified and rearranged without departing from the spirit of the invention, the scope of which is limited only by the terms of the appended claims.

What I claim is 1. A shade roller, curtain and drapery support comprising two devices, each of said devices comprising a fixture comprising an attaching ear, a channelled supporting member having flanges and a lateral supporting member; a curtain and drapery bracket hav ing angularly disposed members, one of the members of said bracket having a slot therein and the other of said members having rod hooks, the slotted member being disposed between the fianges of said channelled supporting member with the side edges thereof respectively in engagement with said flanges, a clamping screw having portions engageable with said channelled supporting member and portions of the slotmembers of said shade roller bracket and said lateral member respectively to maintain the adjustment of said shade roller bracket, and adjustable rods adapted to have the opposite ends thereof respectively connected to said rod hooks.

2' A shade roller, curtain and drapery support comprising two devices, each }of said devices comprising a fixture comprising an attaching ear, a channelled. supporting member having flanges and a lateral supporting member; a curtain and drapery bracket having angularly disposed members, one of the members of said bracket having a slot therein and the other of said members having rod supporting means, the slotted member being disposed between the flanges of said channelled supporting member with the side edges thercoi respectively in engagement with said flanges, a clai'nping screw having portions engageable with said channelled supporting member and portions of the slotted member of the bracket respectively to maintain the adjustment of said bracket, said flanges preventing pivotal movement of the bracket about said clamping screw, a shade roller bracket having angularly disposed slotted members, and a clamping screw having portions engageable with one of the members of said shade roller bracket and said lateral member respectively to maintain the adjustment of said shade roller bracket.
