Abstract
659,290. Sliding-clasp fasteners. CONMAR PRODUCTS CORPORATION. March 21, 1950, No. 7069. '[Class 44] An automatically locking slider for sliding clasp fasteners comprises three parts, a body S of the usual type, a locking member L mounted on the upper wing of the body, and a pull-tab P ; the member L, comprising a front arm 44 and two laterally spaced rear arms 46, 48 resiliently movable with respect to the arm 44, and having detents 52, 54 staggered to engage with a pair of the fastener elements f, f. The lock member is retained in position without a pivot, the ends of the arms resiliently engaging on either side of a part 38 of the body, normally in the locking position of Fig. 2. Opening pull on the tab P causes the lock member to fulcrum about the point 82, Fig. 9, owing to the camming action of the trunnions 68 of the tab in the slots in the lock member.
