Abstract
658,620. Control of motors. SOC. D'INVENTIONS AERONAUTIQUES ET MECANIQUES S.I.A.M. July 9, 1948, No. 18557. Convention date, July 12, 1947. [Class 38(iii)] [Also in Groups XXIV and XXIX] Valves 6, 7, and 8, 9, which regulate the supply of fluid to a hydraulic jack 3, are operated, through rod 20, rocking member 21, and crank arm 23, by a reversible electric motor having rotor 24 and stator winding 25, the motor driving the rod 20 to alternative extreme positions. The motor drives a worm wheel 29 which is mounted freely on a shaft 22 and is integral with a driving plate 30 having a dog 31. Pawls 32, 33, are mounted on pins in a driven plate 36 which is keyed to the shaft 22. The member 31 is adapted to engage one of the pawls, according to the direction of rotation, and so drive the crank 23 until a roller 37 engages the pawl and uncouples the crank from the motor. A ball 39 simultaneously enters one of the slots 40, 41 for exact positioning of the crank. The declutching of the motor is substantially coincident with the opening of its supply circuit, the rod 20 operating a switch 26 which prepares the circuit for reverse operation. Reversal is effected upon operation of a two-way switch 27, the pawl which was formerly inoperative now being positioned to take up the drive. The reversing switch 26 may alternatively be of the snap-action type, actuated by a cam on the shaft 22. An indicating device mounted on the shaft 22 may show which of the pipes 1, 2, is connected under pressure or exhaust.
