[Class 64(i)] To prevent condensation of combustion gases on the tubes' 23 of an economizer. part of the feedwater which has passed through the economizer is returned through a line 4, to the fresh water feed line 1b connecting the feed pump 1 to the economizer, and part of the water delivered by the feed pump 1 is diverted from the line 1b leading to the economizer, through a byepass 6 furnished with a control valve 8, to the line 3c leading from the economizer to the point of utilization of the feedwater. The valve 8 is operated manually or automatically.
