Abstract
677,791. Injectors. HENSCHEL & SOHN GES. April 28, 1950 [Aug. 8, 1949], No. 10509/50 Class 71. [Also in Group XIII] A feedwater supply system for a locomotive &c. boiler includes a hot water accumulator a which is supplied with water from a tank m, through pipe k with pump pl, and has an outlet o, with feed pump p<SP>2</SP>, leading to the boiler inlet q, also an overflow l to the pump p<SP>1</SP>, the water in said accumulator being heated and maintained in circulation by an exhaust steam ejector c. The latter is disposed in a middle temperature zone g of the tank, this zone being defined by antisurge partitions b, and is provided with a steam supply branch d, inner and outer annular inlet nozzles j<SP>1</SP>, j<SP>2</SP>, communicating respectively with a cold water zone f, through a branch pipe e, and said middle zone g, and a tubular branch h leading to a hot water zone i. The accumulator is vented at s, and the nozzle j<SP>1</SP> may be extended beyond the nozzle j<SP>2</SP> as shown in dotted lines.
