Abstract
658,056. Mincing-machines. SIVERTSEN, P. M. June 1, 1949, No. 14718. [Class 28(ii)] A meat-mincing machine is provided with a rotary cutter 47 spaced rearwardly of a mixing member or of cutting blades 66 adjacent to a perforated front plate 8. As shown in Fig. 3, this rotary cutter may comprise three graduated discs 48, 49 and 35 spaced apart by webs 50 and 51. Alternatively the cutter 47 comprises separate or combined discs with no spacing webs, or a single disc, or a spiral cutting cone 77 combined with a disc member 79 as shown in Fig. 8. In a mixing chamber between the rotary cutter 47 and the front plate 8 there may be one or more removable pins 55 causing the meat to be mixed as it passes through the mincer. The mincer body has an internal and removable sleeve 20 provided with a plurality of axially extending ribs 21. In all cases, the rotary cutters described above coact with cutting edges formed by the ribs 21, to shear the meat. Whereas the usual worm 19 may be supported at the cutting end of the mincer by an axial extension 15 passing through a central aperture 14 in the front plate 8 it is possible, according to one modification described, to support the worm 19 at this end by suitably shaping one of the disc cutters to bear in a smooth portion of the sleeve 20.
