[Class 37] Variations from a nominal frequency are measured by means of two circuits having resonant frequencies above and below the nominal frequency, the outputs being rectified and applied to a ratiometer comprising two coils 1, 2 secured together for rotation about an axis 3; preferably the gaps between the polepieces 4 and the central core 8 widen from 4a to 4b; the core 8 is preferably slotted to facilitate assembly; a third coil 10, Fig. 3, may be wound round the coils 1, 2 for damping purposes.
