Abstract
655,636. Control of D.C. motors. EATON MANUFACTURING CO. May 4, 1948, No. 12225. Convention date, May 29, 1947. '[Class 38(iii)] Gear-shifting mechanism is driven by an electric motor supplied from a battery 24 through a key-operated switch 26, which may be an ignition switch of a vehicle engine. The motor, having armature 30 and alternately-energized reversing field windings 32, 34 drives a screw carrying a loadshifting nut co-operating with limit switcharms 46 and 48 which are biassed to closed positions by a spring 54 having an insulating link 64. The direction of rotation is selected by switch 16 the operating knob of which may be mounted on a gear-shift lever of a vehicle. A speedometer speed change adapter, Fig. 1 (not shown), may have an operating solenoid energizable from the battery. Specification 616,533, [Group XXIV], is referred to.
