Abstract
655,331. Cathode-ray tubes. DU MONT LABORATORIES, Inc., A. B. Sept. 1, 1948, No. 23048. Convention date, Sept. 11, 1947. [Class 39 (i)] The shielded deflecting plates are connected to coaxial lines through short lengths of coaxial line, each comprising a metal tube in the neck of the cathode-ray tube. In the preferred form, each plate 5 is supported by a conductor 4 spaced by a glass button 3 from a tube 2, which is sealed at 2<SP>1</SP> to the neck 1 and carries a screwed ring 6 to engage an external line. Each tube 2 carries a glass ring 11 and is welded to a shielding frame 7a, 7b which is formed by bending the edges of a square sheet and is carried by the gun through rods 8. The frame carries the shields 9, 10 and is electrically connected to the second anode.
