[Class 78 (iii)] [Also in Groups I and XXXII] In a device for movably supporting poultry folding units or pens or other heavy objects comprising a two-armed lever provided at the junction of its arms with means for effecting a pivotal connection with a mounting member secured on the object, one of said arms constituting a handle and the other carrying a wheel at its free end, whereby on movement of the handle in one direction about the pivotal connection the wheel is pressed downwards against the ground or other supporting surface and raises the object from said surface, the mounting member comprises a sleeve secured on the pen or other object and the pivotal connection of the lever therewith is constituted by a pin on the lever axially slidable within said sleeve whereby the lever is readily detachable, means being provided for retaining the lever against detachment from the sleeve in the pen-supporting position of the device. The Figures show a device for moving a poultry pen comprising a crank arm 10, one end 11 of which forms a journal for a wheel 12 whilst the other end 13 is adapted to be engaged in one of two sleeves 17 on a member 14 secured to the pen, and a handle 16 secured to the arm. To move the pen, a device is located at each side of the pen with the end 11 of its arm 10 engaging in a sleeve 17 and with its wheel resting idly on the ground as shown in chain lines in Fig. 3. The handles 16 are now turned clockwise whereby the pen is raised and its weight taken by the wheels. Rotation of the handles is limited by abutments 21 on the pen, and heads or enlargements on the outer end of these abutments retain the levers against detachment from the members 14. After the pen has been moved, the devices are returned to the chain line position so that the base of the pen again rests on the ground. The handles 16 may be arranged in alignment with the arms 10.
