654,095. Hasp fastenings. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON, CO., Ltd., WOOD, C. W., and TURNER, L. W. V. Feb. 23, 1948, No. 5332. [Class 44] In a hasp fastener of the kind comprising a link pivoted to one of the parts to be fastened, and an engaging member pivoted to the other end of the link and having operating means such as a handle and providing a surface adapted to co-operate with an abutment on the other part, the parts having interposed resilient means, surh as a gasket, and the engaging member being turned beyond a dead-centre position, the link 1 is U-shaped in form, made from stout wire and in the close position embraces lug 14 on the part 2, while the engaging member comprises a handle 8 pivotally secured to the free end of the link, and carrying an adjustable screw 10, the head of which engages in a depression 17 in a lug 16 on the part 4. A spring loop 7 may be formed in each arm of the U-shaped link, and the ends of the arms may be bent round bosses 10 on the handle. The base of the U may be secured to the lug 14 by bending over a part 15 thereof.
