Abstract
654,040. Well points. LIDDELL, G. Aug. 18, 1949, No. 21504. [Classes 68(i) and 85] To assist in the sinking of a well point of the type disclosed in Specification 11536/08, [Class 85], there is secured to the penetrating end of the well point an auger 12 in the form of a tapered screw, the largest diameter of which is greater than that of the well point tube itself, so that the auger facilitates the penetration of the well point when said point is rotated. Water under pressure passes down through the well point past valve 5 and passages 6 and thence by passage 7 through the centre of the screw auger to return upwards by a path along the groove or grooves formed by the auger.
