Abstract

653,768. Luggage-carriers. SCHNEIDER, M. June 25, 1948, No. 17169. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Jan. 3, 1949.] [Class 136 (i)] In a luggage carrier for attachment to the backwheel stays of cycles, flaps 10 are provided which hang on both sides of the horizontal support 2a serving to carry the luggage and which can be swung up to the level of the support. The support 2a has two transverse members 5 inside each of which is a flat spring 6 and two pieces 7 rotatably mounted on bolts 8. The ends of the springs lie either on surfaces 9 or 9a formed on the pieces 7. The surfaces 9, 9a are inwardly bent and at right angles to each other so that the side flaps 10 can be held in the plane of the horizontal support 2a or at right angles to it. The part 2a has a spring urged clamping piece 4 and each side flap has a holder 12, rubber rollers 14, 15 being provided.
