651,736. Shot-gun cartridges. BOUCAYRAND, R. Feb. 6, 1948, No. 3525. Convention date, April 21, 1947. [Class 9 (i)] The forward end of a cartridge case A is recessed to cause the case to be reversed during flight and thereby effect ejection of the shot. The recess may be formed by using a concave cap B of hemi-spherical or conical form. Otherwise a flat disc set back from the forward end of the case may be used. Apertures E may be provided in the cap. The case may have longitudinal ribs D and lateral apertures C may be provided to increase the damping effect of the recess. The case A and the end cap may be of light-weight alloy, thermoplastic material, cardboard or cork composition.
