651,045. Making grids for thermionic valves. M-0 VALVE CO., Ltd., and STAERCK, T. H. Aug. 10, 1948, No. 21095. [Class 83 (ii)] [Also in Group XL (a)] A grid for a thermionic valve as shown in Fig. 5, is made by winding an elliptical helix round two supports 5, applying inward pressure to opposite sides of the turns at points approximately midway between the supports to deform the helix, removing this pressure, and finally applying further inward pressure at points 9 near the supports so that the adjacent half turns cross each other near each support.
