649,587. Distributing music &c. FARNSWORTH TELEVISION & RADIO CORPORATION. Dec. 10, 1947, No. 32566. Convention date, Nov. 8, 1945. [Class 40 (iv)] [Also in Group XL (b)] A distribution system for highfrequency energy comprises an input terminal 4 connected to a number of impedance inverters 6 and 7, each of which is connected to a group of transmission lines in parallel, such as 10, 11, 12 and 13, 14, 15, the total impedance of a group of lines as seen from its associated inverter multiplied by the impedance presented to the input terminal being chosen to be substantially equal to the squared characteristic impedance of the inverters divided by the number, of the inverters. This network serves to link a master aerial 1 to a number of receivers 2 and 8, producing matching and avoiding reflections. If the receiver of a particular line is not in operation the line is terminated by a resistor 16 or 17 of impedance equal to a receiver. The system is intended chiefly for use in television reception. Specification 615,585 is referred to.
