647,972. Floor beams. PUBLICIDAD BALEAR SOC. ANON. Dec. 24, 1947, No. 34255. Convention date, May 23, 1941. [Class 20(iv)] A ceramic, e.g. terra cotta element for the construction of beams has a longitudinal channel in its lower face which is open throughout its length and of a depth not less than about half the depth of the element, and lateral extensions 2 of the lower face forming flanges parallel to the channel, and the upper edges 3 parallel to the flanges are bevelled. To form a beam the units a, b, c are arranged in a line, the continuous channel 2 is filled with concrete 5, and a reinforcing rod 4 embedded in the concrete with the ends projecting. The edges 3 may be chamfered or hollowed as shown. Specification 647,975 is referred to.
