[Class 36] A flexible screen for an electric cable consists of a conducting rubber composition combined with one or more crimped wire conductors. A multicore cable may have the individual cores screened in this manner, or they may. be collectively screened. The screen may be made from two strips c of conducting rubber having the conductors d sandwiched therebetween, and may be applied helically or longitudinally over the cable insulation b. Such preformed screens may also be used for repairing and ensuring the continuity of damaged screens. Specifications 526,895 and 641,922 are referred to.
