Abstract

647,125. Pulse amplifying and delaying circuits. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Oct. 18, 1946, No. 31063. Convention date, Nov. 2, 1942. Drawings to Specification. [Class 40 (vi)] In a multistage pulse amplifier each stage is normally blocked and has an inductive load across which a positive pulse is produced upon the termination of a positive input pulse which momentarily unblocks the stage, the pulse across the inductive load serving to unblock the next valve. Since the resonant circuit formed by the inductive load and stray capacitances is such that a second positive pulse of appreciable amplitude is produced, the circuit is arranged so that the first pulse drives the next stage into grid current, thus increasing the charge on the coupling capacitor sufficiently to prevent the second positive pulse from unblocking the stage.
