Abstract

A sintered alloy of the hard metal carbide type comprises 3-4 per cent of finely-divided titanium carbide, 1-4 per cent in total of finely-divided carbide of one or both of niobium and tantalum, 5-9 per cent of one or more of the metals iron, nickel and cobalt and the remainder one or both of the carbides of tungsten and molybdenum.
