646,260. Batteries. NATIONAL BATTERY CO. Aug. 9, 1948, Nos. 20965 and 20966. Convention dates, Aug. 16, 1947 and Jan. 10, 1948. [Class 53] [Also in Group XVIII] A battery is provided with a combined filling plug 7 and a liquid-level indicator consisting of a transparent tube 10 having a closed lower end 12 in the form of a cone or pyramid which reflects light passing down the tube unless the lower end is submerged in the electrolyte. The tube is closed at its upper end by a transparent plate 14. Gas from the battery escapes through vents 19, 24.
