Abstract

645,808. Cabinets; shelving. GUARDIAN SAFE & STEEL FURNITURE CO., Ltd., and TIMMS, J. W. Oct. 20, 1948, No. 27197. [Class 52 (i)] Sheet-metal cabinets or shelving of collapsable construction have side walls 6 with front and rear channels 7 embracing side channels 5 on the back wall 4 and the forwardly directed channelled uprights 2 of the front frame. A bottom rail 3 connecting the uprights 2 and a rear ledge 13 form a seating for the floor 12 and the top 15 has peripheral flanges and a rearward extension 16 on the front flange which enters the channelled top rail 1 which completes the front frame. The parts are held in erect position by the floor and by shelf bearers extending between front and rear perforated strips 8. Hinged doors can be fitted to the front flanges of the sides or, in the case of shelving, separate doors can be hinged to the forward edges of the shelves.
