Abstract
645,491. Fences. KING,; G. R. Sept. 5, 1947, No. 24519. [Class 45] A socket-like member for fixing arris rails to posts is adapted to embrace all the sides of the rail to which it is screwed or otherwise fixed, the end of the rail being spaced from a wall closing the outer end of the device, this wall having a slot or opening to receive a bolt for securing the device to the post and one of the side walls of the above having a mouth through which the bolt or nut can be manipulated. A member for triangular section arris rails has two walls 1 arranged in V-shape each having a hole 6 for a fixing screw and an inturned flange 3 to grip the third side of the rail. The end wall 4 has a keyhole slot 7 to take a bolt by which the bracket is fixed to the post. The bracket may be made to suit rails of other than triangular section and may be cast or stamped and bent from flat sheet. In the latter case the end wall 4 is formed by overlapping flanges of the walls 1 so that it is of double thickness.
