Abstract

644,654. Walk-type tractor. BURKE, P. W. March 25, 1948, No. 8838. [Classes 79 (i) and 79 (ii)] [Also in Group I] A power driven cultivator (see Group I) comprises a motor 14 which drives landwheels 11 a and a transverse shaft 29 through worm and wheel gearing 80, 93. The motor shaft 15 drives a shaft 77 through a flexible coupling 76. Two clutches 86 and 98 are provided in the motor drive and are operated by levers 92 and 103 joined by a link 104. and connected to a lever on the handles 47a through Bowden wire control. Partial movement of the lever declutches the implement drive and further movement of the lever declutches the landwheels 11a. The steering handles 47a are mounted for lateral adjustment about a vertical pivot 53 and a bolt device 57 operated by a Bowden wire control from a lever 64 engages a quadrant plate on the machine frame to lock the handles in the required position.
