Abstract
642,268. Earth-working implements. PRICE, J. E., PEACOCK, T. W., and PEACOCK, G. W. Feb. 21, 1948, No. 5208. Convention date, Dec. 14, 1945. [Class 68 (i)] [Also in Group I] A land-clearing device comprises a tractor 1 having a pivoted yoke 2 on which is mounted a frame composed of upper and lower cross-bars 5 and 8 interconnected by end-plates 9 and carrying curved rake teeth 17, the front edges of the teeth being curved on two different radii. The yoke is pivoted to the tractor chassis and may be lifted by poweroperated arms 3. The cross-bars extend either perpendicularly or obliquely to the line of travel and may carry perforated plates filling the spaces between the teeth. The upper portions of the teeth are curved on a smaller radius 18 than that, 19, of the lower portions, and these portions have rearward extensions 22 underlying the bar 8. Adjustable skids 15 are carried on the lower bar. The end plates 9 have sharpened knife-edges 20 to assist in breaking down adjacent vegetation.
