Abstract

1453826 Combination side rake and baler D J FARRANT 27 Nov 1973 [28 Nov 1972] 54829/72 Heading A1F A side rake and baler combination comprises a side rake which rakes from left to right and which is attached to the baler to be towed behind it along a line at the right hand side of the baler, this side being the side from which the baler picks up hay. The rake may comprise rake wheels 23 ground wheels 24, a pivot connection 15, a triangular frame 21 and a strut 25 pivotally connected between the rake and baler. The ground wheels may pivot about vertical axes. The strut 25 may be collapsible or removable and may be connected directly to boom 22 if the other two sides of the triangular frame 21 are omitted. In this case the boom 22 has' one end wheel. In use as the baler picks up hay from row 11<SP>1</SP> the rake rakes rows 11<SP>2</SP>, 11<SP>3</SP> into a single thick rod 16 for baling on the next pass.
