Abstract
913,237. Haymaking machines. VAN DER LELY N. V., C. March 3, 1959 [March 5, 1958], No. 7347/59. Class 6(3). A haymaking machine of the rake-wheel type includes a frame-beam 3 which is connected at the front to a frame-part 2 carrying hitchpoints 28, 29 for tractor draught-links 31, 32, the beam 3 being arched, in side-elevation, but extending longitudinally, in plan view, and having a hitch-point 30 for the top-link 33, the rear end of the beam being connected to a beam 4 on which the rake-wheels 9-12 are mounted, for side-delivery. The members 2, 3 are hinged to the take-wheel-carrying beam 4 about a vertical hinge 14. The portion 24 of the member 21 connecting the front end of the beam 4 to the member 2 is arcuate about the hinge-axis 14 and is slidable in brackets 22, 23, carried by the member 2 so that the obliquity of the rake-wheel row to the line of draught can be varied. The members 2, 3, 21 carry caster-wheels 36, 38 ,37, two of which are mounted adjacent to the rake-wheel row but ahead of it, the wheel 37 lying outside the working swath and the wheel 38 being spaced sufficiently ahead of the rake-wheel row to permit the passage of the accumulated crop during side-delivery. For tedding, the rear rake-wheels 10, 11, 12 are removed from the beam 4 and transferred to sockets 53, 50, 52 carried by the members 2, 49, 21. For swathturning, the wheels 11, 12 are transferred to sockets 50, 51 on a beam 49 secured to the member 2. Specifications 907,908, 913,235, 913,236, 913,238 and 913,239 are referred to.
