Abstract
949,166. Haymaking machines. H. A. HUEBNER, and R. M. WORREL. Feb. 15, 1960, No. 5325/60. Heading A1F. In a side-delivery rake of the type having a series of rake-wheels 30 oblique to the line of travel, the obliquity progressively decreases along the series. This variation compensates for the increased loading of hay against each rake-wheel along the series. The rake-wheels are mounted on an articulated frame 16 of which a forward part 12 is supported by a ground-wheel 17 and by the lower hitch-links 10 of a tractor T, the upper link being replaced by a chain 11 attached to a standard 14. The wheel-carrying part of the frame 16 comprises beams 18, 23, the forward beam 18 being attached by a vertical pivot 13 to the framepart 12 and being linked at 26 to a beam 22 secured to the beam 23 and attached by an adjustable chain 34 to the frame-part 12. The stubaxles of some of the rake-wheels are extended, as at 19, 27 to carry vertical bearings for casters 21, 29. The obliquity to the line of draught varies from 45 degrees for the rearmost rake-wheel, to 55 degrees for the foremost. Specification 949,167 is referred to.
