Abstract
865,071. Side-delivery rakes. VAN DER LELY N.V., C. Sept. 4, 1957 [Sept. 29, 1956], No. 27964/57. Class 6(3). In a side-delivery rake of the type having a row of rake-wheels oblique to the line of travel, the obliquity of the rearmost is less than that of the remainder. The machine is similar to that described in Specification 827,737 and consists of a beam 12 mounted on a frame 9 carried by tractor hitch-links 2. Stub-axles 15A, 15B, 15C, 16 carry rake-wheels 17, 18, 19, 34A, the three foremost wheels having a fixed orientation to the beam 12 and the rearmost being mounted on its stub-axle 16 by a pair of U-brackets pivoted together by a spindle 25, one of the brackets having an apertured lug 26 which can be anchored to an apertured sector 21 by a pin 30 to secure the rake-wheel 34A at various orientations. In a modification, the member 16 is formed as a tube which receives a cranked stub-axle carrying the rakewheel, the crank being adjustable about the axis of the tube to secure the wheel at various orientations. In this case, the rake-wheel is vertical in only two positions of the crank, being inclined at all intermediate settings,
