Abstract

522,112. Hay sweeps. HAYWARD, N. S. Dec. 5, 1938, No. 35384. [Class 6 (iii)] A hay sweep having side portions which fold up over the centre part is connected in front of a tractor so that it can swivel laterally. As shown the implement has a main frame 10 with axle 12 and wheels 13. Side frames 10a, to which some of the tines are fixed, are detachably secured in operative position but can be turned on cross-pins 18 and brought into a position above the main frame to decrease the width of the implement for transport. The side frames are fitted with lateral bars 24 to prevent the collected hay falling away at the sides. The sweep is connected to a bracket on the wheel axle of the tractor by 'a forked coupling bar 22 pivoted on a spindle 21 and having an eye 23.
