Abstract

173,266. Camp, W. Aug. 21, 1920. Couplings for tractors.-A coupling-device for enabling a number of self-binding reapers to work in series comprises a hauling-bar d secured to the rear of each leading or tractor machine on which slides an adjustable draw-bar l secured to the following machine. The hauling bar d is supported at one end by a triangular frame c pivoted at one side of the leading machine and carrying a caster wheel e, and at the other end by stays g, h hinged on the foot-board f to permit the bar d to follow the movements of the caster wheel over rough ground. The off-side end of the hauling-bar is bent rearwardly and provided with an eye for an adjustable link j which extends to the draw-bar l. The draw-bar is pivoted to an inverted T-frame provided with rollers 1, 2, 3 which engage and can move along the bar d.
