Abstract

118,759. Gill, H. A., (Moline Plow Co.). Dec. 13, 1917. Harvesting-machines. - A harvesting-machine &c. is connected with a two-wheeled tractor so as to form a unitary structure, the coupling permitting independent rocking movement and adjuetment of the harvesting-machine. The tractor comprises a pair of driving and steering wheels 11 and a pivoted tail or beam 12 to which two brackets 20, 21 are attached. A beam 25 comprising a pair of spaced members is carried by the brackets 20, 21 by longitudinal pivots which permit slight sliding movement of the beam 25. The tongue 27 of the harvesting-machine is pivoted to a bracket 26 depending from the beam 25 and is provided with a pair of slotted members 41 engaging pins 45 on the beam. The tongue is connected by a rod 56 to a clevis 59 adjustably engaging a draw-bar 60. A walking beam 52 is connected to the frame 29 of the harvester to the rear of the axle, and to the bracket 26 by a slot connexion. The walking beam supports the beam 25 by means of a rod 48 on which are mounted adjustable springs 46, 47. The harvester can be tilted forwardly by means of a hand-lever 38 provided with an extension connected by links 39 to the tongue. The lever 38 is pivoted to a part of the frame of the harvester. The controlling- rods are supported on. a bar 63 connected to the tail 12 of the tractor and to the frame of the harvester.
