Abstract

589,616. Agricultural harrows. HICKS, W. L. Nov. 14, 1944, No. 22447. [Class 6 (i)] A harrow has two frames 1, 10, the former being made of cranked bars 2, angle bars 3 and cross-members 4, 5, 6, and the latter of angle girders 11 and cross members 12 below the members 6. Tines attached to the cross members 6 pass through holes 13 in the bars 12. Shafts 17, 18 are attached to the frame 10 by U-shaped members 19 and can be turned by lever system 27, 28, 29. Arcuate arms 15, 16 extend from the shafts through staples 14 on frame 1 and have stops 50, 60. When shafts are turned the frames are vertically separated by the travelling of the arms 15, 16, so clearing the tines. Simultaneously arms 21 depending from the shafts 17, 18 lift the tines away from the ground on to skids 22 to which they are attached.
