[Class 20(ii)] A mould for casting a concrete wall in successive sections comprises two relatively movable units, one of which consists of a pair of spaced side plates and connecting means therefor, the other unit consisting of an end plate positioned by the previously cast course of the wall and which is movable between the sideplates, so that after a section of the wall has been cast, the end plate provides local support therefor while the side plate unit is moved relatively thereto to its new casting position. For a cavity wall end frames 1, 2, Fig. 1, which may be rigid or adjustable, carry side plates 13, 14 and position a core 19 which is supported on a metal &c. strip 22 carried by wall ties 65. The strip 22 may be formed as a bar of lengths of U-section sheet metal interengaging end to end. The strip 22 has a series of abutment stops 55 for pins 46 on a triangular shaped frame 40 which carries the mould end-plate 35, this plate, when in moulding position, bearing on strips 37 the side plates 13, 14. After a section of the wall has been moulded against a previous section 66, the unit comprising the side plates, end frames and core is slid past the fixed end plate 35 to a new casting position, the end plate and its carrying frame then being removed and advanced to a position in which the pins 46 abut against the next stop 55, this position corresponding to correct location of the end plate 35 relatively to the side plates. Draft is provided on the various surfaces of the side plates and core to facilitate movement relatively to the cast concrete. The mould may be closed at the end opposite to the plate 35, for casting an end section, by a plate 25 Fig. 3 having lugs 32 to hook over the top of the frame 2 and a bar 30 to engage behind lips 33 on the frame 2. For a solid wall, supporting strips 170, Fig. 6 are fixed to the sides 113, 114, to bear on the previous course of the wall, and a guided core member 173 is provided on the frame 102 to form slots such as 172, to receive a positioning lug 146 on the frame 140 supporting the end plate 135 when the next course of the wall is cast. In a modification, to avoid the formation of grooves in the wall by the supporting strips 170 on the mould sides, these strips are dispensed with and the mould is supported by a bar 280, Fig. 7 guided in the plate 235, the frame 240, which carries the plate 235, being counterweighted to compensate for the weight of the mould.
