In the moulding position; the end members and face plate co-operate with a fixed plate 5. Cores 6 may be inserted into the mould through the plate 5 A pivoted bar 27 and a fixed bar 20 form grooves in the moulded block. A pivoted plate 7 is used for smoothing the upper face of the block. The end members 4 have parts 21, 22 23, 24, to shape the block.
